Description
In describing Ocotillo Wikipedia writes that “much of the year, the plant appears to be an arrangement of large spiny dead sticks.” Not the most complimentary of descriptions. But especially after spring, summer, and occasionally fall rains, the tips of these “dead sticks,” bloom with bright red flowers which they wave high into the sky as if to show off how full of life and color they are.
