Description
When heat hits the wetland, Great Meadows is thick with growth and color. Even this protected refuge is not immune from the advance of invasive species. Most visible in summer is purple loosestrife. It is hard to deny that this unnatural visitor adds vibrant color to the landscape. With its natural success getting a foothold in wet ground, loosestrife is likely to remain a Great Meadows resident for more summers to come.
