Description
Native First Nations legend tells of a time when Earth was covered in ice. Raven the Creator changed the land to a beautiful green. But to remind us of when Earth was pure, clean and covered with snow and ice, Raven went among the black bear and turned every tenth bear white.
That is the Legend of Spirit Bear. And this legend lives on…
Along the remote coast of British Columbia in western Canada there lies the Great Bear Rainforest, one of the largest areas of unspoiled temperate rainforest left in the world. It's here that a mysterious black bear walks out of ancient legend to fish secluded streams and call these special forests home. To many he's known as Kermode Bear. But I prefer his ancestral Tsimshian name, mooksgm'ol. He is, undoubtedly, The Spirit Bear.
