Artist's Description
Old Maverick Road is the first turn right after entering Big Bend from the west. It is one of the Park’s improved dirt roads, it is passable by most types of vehicles but road conditions can deteriorate quickly with a passing storm. But this is the Chihuahuan Desert and there was no rain in sight. And little to no other vehicles either. Just us, the Terlingua Creek Badlands and a cast of old rugged desert characters gathered along the road.
