What a way to start a day. The sun was barely over the horizon but already the plains were flooded with golden light. Then in the grass, he stirred, turned and locked eyes with the sun. He was a powerful and beautiful dominant male lion, Panthera leo, the head of the Plains Pride. But in the early hours of this bright new day, he was just the King of still sleepy.
