When we came to this spot two afternoons earlier, a mother bear and her cub were hiding in the grass and tree. On this morning, there they were there again, but not hiding this time. Mom was out patrolling the tall grass for walnuts to eat. But those tasty morsels are too big and hard for a little cub to enjoy. But no matter. Her cub is more interested in the tree itself anyway. The tree and the playground that awaits off the ground in the tangle of branches overhead.
