In the town of Grand Haven, the Grand River meets Lake Michigan. Here a concrete breakwater holds up and extends two lighthouses from the south side of the river into the lake. The first Inner Light rises 51 feet while the outer Pierhead Light, the original fog signal building, stands guards at the end of the pier.
